Benton, Wisconsin Karen A. Cole, 70, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Monday, January 26, 2015, at home. Visitation will be from noon until 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015, followed by a service with Pastor Dan Verdegan officiating at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City. Karen was born on November 3, 1944, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Virginia (Glovik) Allison. She married Donald Cole on May 1, 1964, in Galena, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2013. She worked at IEI Barge Terminal in East Dubuque for 38 years. Karen enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Family and friends were her life, and she loved to laugh. She loved her dog, Booger, and her cat Buddy. Survivors include her mother, Virginia Allison, of Dubuque; two sons, Cory, of Dubuque, and Shane (Alonna Hentges), of Mt. Horeb; a sister, Jerry Lynn (Craig) Cheffer, of Bettendorf, Iowa; a grandson, Nicholas Cole; two sisters-in-law, Joy (Alan) Droessler, of Cuba City, and Mary Lou (friend Remie Reynold) Baal of Platteville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son Christopher Lynn. Special thanks to Hospice of Dubuque and to the staff at the Oncology Department at Mercy in Dubuque.
