Kay E. Beinborn, 72, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish and Catholic Daughters of the Americas wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service. Kay was born on December 28, 1936, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Samuel and Kathryn (Rudkin) Altenburg. She worked at the Cuba City Telephone Company. Kay married Luverne “Vern” Beinborn on October 24, 1980. Kay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a past Girl Scout Leader, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Cuba City Rescue Squad, the Cuba City Lioness Club, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #4. Survivors include her husband, Luverne “Vern”; a daughter, Mary (Greg) Gruel, and their children, Sarah, Hunter, and Molly, of East Dubuque, IL, three sons, Steve (Dayna) Wilberding, and their son, Michael, of Cuba City, Mark (Teri Porcel) Wilberding, and their children, Matt and Ben, of St. John’s Island, South Carolina, and James (Julie) Wilberding, and their children, Tyler, Logan, and Lexie, of Sun Prairie, WI; her stepmother, Marion Altenburg, of Temecula, CA; her aunt, Lillian Grimm, of Cuba City; three half-sisters, Barbara Barlow, Diane (Scott) Baker, and Susan (Jeff) Schott, all of California; two stepbrothers, John (Lynn) Legler, of Madison, WI, and Karl (Dorothy) Legler, of Sauk City, WI; her stepchildren, Mary Beinborn and Sherry Clement, of McFarland, WI, Karen (Darrel) Gilkes and Wayne (Teena) Beinborn, of Prairie du Chien, Larry (Jessy) Beinborn, of Cuba City, Patricia Reuter, of Prairie du Chien, and Casey Beinborn, of Honolulu, Hawaii; fourteen step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Dorothy Rudkin; her mother, Kathryn Legler; her stepfather, George Legler; her father, Samuel Altenburg; her first grandchild, Jami Lynn Wilberding; and a stepsister, Sally Bilderbach. A Kay E. Beinborn Memorial Fund has been established. Thank you to Dr. Hermann and Tony Heiar and their oncology staff, and Hospice of Dubuque.
