L. Jeanette Sherwin

L. "Jeanette" Sherwin, 91, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Pastor Paul Glendenning officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Platteville. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service. Jeanette was born on May 30, 1924, in Livingston, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Fern (Wagner) Lee. She married Guerdon T. Sherwin on November 29, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death. She farmed her entire adult life in the Belmont, Union and Platteville areas. She also worked in laundry at the Platteville Municipal Hospital and as a greeter at Walmart in Platteville. Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Elaine) Sherwin, of Cuba City, and Ken (Marge) Sherwin, of Richland Center; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Sherwin, of Longmont, Colorado; two sisters, Judy (Fred) Mehren, of Rockford, Illinois, and Nancy (Tom) Ziegenfuss, of Platteville; a sister-in-law, Jo Schwenn, of Madison; and a brother-in-law, Hank Bossenbroek, of Platteville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Bradley (Tracey) Sherwin, Kimberly (Mark) Gehrke, Timothy Sherwin, Robert (Anna) Sherwin, Scott Sherwin, and Kelley (Lewie Fader) Sherwin; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Connor, Bailey, Bryce, Paige and Sophie Sherwin; two step-great-grandchildren, Ryan (Jamie) Oyen and Shannon (special friend, Brian) Oyen; a step-great-great-grandchild, Carson Oyen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard "Dick" Sherwin, two brothers, Merle (Lorraine) Lee, and Wendell Lee; three sisters, Dorothy (Wendell) Cliff, Genevieve (Herbert) Osterholz, and Iola Bossenbroek; and a brother-in-law, Donald Homuth.
