Cuba City, Wisconsin LaVon M. Rogers, 90, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Private family visitation will be Thursday morning before the service. LaVon was born on September 5, 1923, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ellsworth M. and Laura (McCarthy) Duggan. She moved eight times during her childhood one of which was to Fountain Bluff near Platteville. LaVon graduated from Cuba City High School in 1942. She married Dean Rogers on May 10, 1944, at St. Matthew Church in Shullsburg. LaVon enjoyed dancing, tending her rock garden, decorating her home, traveling, and visiting family. She was a faith filled mother of eight children. LaVon was a devout Irish Catholic who will be missed by her family. Survivors include her husband of nearly 70 years, Dean; three daughters, Carol (Steve) Jacobi, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sue (Wayne) Droessler, of Cuba City, and Kelly (Mike) Wirz, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; five sons, Ron (Kathi) Rogers, of Troy, Michigan, Gary (Patty) Rogers, of Rockford, Illinois, Pat (Donna) Rogers, of Cuba City, Jim (Mary) Rogers, of Eagan, Minnesota, and Randy (Luanne) Rogers, of Platteville; two sisters, Darlene Busch, of Cuba City, and Mercedes (Dan) Rooney, of Schaumburg, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Loretta "Sis" Duggan, of Platteville; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Delmer Duggan; a brother-in-law, Joseph Busch; and an infant daughter, Laura Mary. A LaVon Rogers Memorial Fund has been established for St. Rose Parish.
