Benton, Wisconsin LaVonne Spillane, 75, of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Cuba City Nursing Home in Cuba City after a brief illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton where the parish wake service will be at 12:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home before the service. LaVonne was born on December 31, 1937, in Darlington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bernard and Helen (Waul) Heying. She was co-owner of the B-N-L Bar in Benton for many years. She worked at the Hazel Green Hospital as a nursing assistant caring for patients, which she loved doing. LaVonnne worked at the Benton State Bank for 18 years before she retired. She enjoyed joining the coffee crew at the Oky Doky but most of all she enjoyed and loved being with her three grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Matthew (Deb) Spillane, of Benton, Michael Spillane, of Madison, Mitchell Spillane, of New Berlin, WI and Monte (Laura) Spillane, of Markesan, WI; three grandchildren, Kylee and Katie Spillane, and Sam Spillane; and two brothers, David (Joan) Heying, of Beaver Dam, WI, and Bernard (LuAnn) Heying Jr., of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque, Mercy Home Health and the Cuba City Nursing Home for their wonderful care given to her during this time.
