Lawrence P. "Larry" McWilliams, 74, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. A loving family man and sports enthusiast, Larry's life was marked by devotion to his friends and loved ones. He enjoyed telling a funny story, laughing with friends, and good food and drink.

Born on October 5, 1950, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, to Bernard "Barney" and Rose (Ringlbauer) McWilliams, Larry was a proud graduate of Cuba City High School's class of 1968. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he laid the foundation for his future career in education and began his lifelong love affair with MGD.

On June 12, 1982, Larry married Cynthia "Cindy" Beattie, in Rock Falls, Illinois. Their union spanned over four decades, filled with love, companionship, and shared adventures.

Larry's professional journey began as a high school social studies teacher in St. Francis, Wisconsin, where he coached football and basketball in addition to his teaching duties. He later transitioned to an accounting career at Chrysler before finding his place at Sinsinawa Mound, where he dedicated 22 years of service. In retirement, Larry and Cindy embraced the snowbird lifestyle, enjoying winters in the warm Arizona sun.

A passionate Wisconsin sports fan, Larry's enthusiasm for the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and Cuba City athletics took him around the state and country. He also served for many years on the board at Cole Acres.

Above all, Larry's greatest joy came from his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Cindy McWilliams of Cuba City; two daughters, Christine McWilliams (John Seifert) and Maggie (Mike) Owens, both of Madison, WI; a cherished grandson, Michael Owens; and a brother, Ben (Barb) McWilliams of Dallas, TX and niece, Tana (Al Atkinson) Shallenberger of Clinton, WI.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Armenta (McWilliams) Yerke.

Per Larry’s wishes, no memorial gathering is planned. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry's warmth, dedication, and love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched as an educator, colleague, friend, and devoted family man.
