Cuba City, Wisconsin Lelia L. Timmerman, 96, of Cuba City, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI, with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. Friends may call from 9-10:45 Saturday at the funeral home. Lelia was born on January 14, 1922, in Hazel Green, WI, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Wiegman) Pinch. She was the fourth of six children and was raised on the family farm. She attended grade school in Hazel Green and was a 1940 graduate of Hazel Green High School. On January 3, 1944, Lelia married Linus Timmerman at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green. Lelia was a homemaker for most of her life, raising seven active children of close ages. With the last of those children nearing graduation, Lelia took a job at Eaton Controls in Hanover, IL; she later went to work for AY McDonald in Dubuque, IA. After recently coming across Lelia’s original birth certificate, the family learned that her given name was not Lelia at all—it was actually Madeline Leona. There’s likely a backstory here between Lelia’s mother and her father (a quiet man of few words, who liked the name “Lelia” better). Suffice is to say, Lelia was “Lelia” from the day she was born to the day she died! Lelia is survived by her children: Gary (Sherri) of Benton; Robert, of Salt Lake City, UT; Carolyn (Jay) Nigbor, of Watertown; Glen, of Prairie du Chien; Marilyn Kohout, of Atascadaro, CA; Joyce Maxcy, of Rockford, IL, and Edward (Mary), of Forreston, IL. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren; her sixteen great-grandchildren; her great-great grandchild; and her sister, Rosalyn Schonhoff, of Galena, Il. Lelia was preceded in death by her husband, Linus; a twin son, John, who died shortly after birth; a son-in-law, Noel Maxcy; her parents, Frank and Rose Pinch; a sister, Marie Dunne; and brothers Elmer, Vincent, and Francis Pinch. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Epione Pavilion for their expert care, their love, and their support.
