Hazel Green, Wisconsin Leonard J. Rupp, 85, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Monday, August 22, 2011, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service. Lenny was born on August 25, 1925, in Potosi, Wisconsin, the son of Peter B. and Odelia A. (Wiest) Rupp. He married Marie Lange on April 22, 1948. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1973. He married Louise McWilliams on September 25, 1975. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2001. Lenny served as both supervisor and chairman of the Hazel Green Township Board from 1978-2005. He was also a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #765 of Cuba City. Lenny had a passion for family, farming and horses. He also enjoyed a good game of euchre. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Splinter, of Hazel Green; three sons, Joseph (Marie) Rupp, of Hazel Green, James (Debbie) Rupp and John (Kathy) Rupp, both of Cuba City; three stepdaughters, Ruth Ann (Robert) Summers, of Cuba City, Joyce (Tom) Connors, of Dubuque, and Marie McWilliams, of Platteville; two stepsons, Kenny (Carol) McWilliams, of Cuba City, and Jim (Donna) McWilliams, of Hastings, Minnesota; three sisters, Leila Brink, of Benton, Dorothy Puls, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Edna Watters, of Swaledale, Iowa; a brother, Ambrose (Lois) Rupp, of Benton; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Rupp, of Cuba City, and Marion Lange, of Hazel Green; a brother-in-law, Louie (JoAnn) Lange, of Benton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Louis Rupp; five brothers-in-law, Bill Brink, Odo Puls, Carl Watters, Raymond Lange, and Harry Lange; and a son-in-law, Arthur Splinter. A Leonard J. Rupp Memorial Fund has been established. A special thank you to Dr. Connolly and also to Grant County Hospice and the Grant County nurses especially Michelle, Kim and Brenda.
