Leota K. Kimball, 75, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Platteville. A family graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Waterloo Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. Locke Funeral Home of Waterloo and Casey Funeral Home of Cuba City, Wisconsin, are in charge of arrangements. Leota was born on June 12, 1938, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Woodard) Swanson. She married her high school sweetheart, DeWayne Kimball, on February 2, 1957. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2005. Leota graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1956. During the late 1950's she worked in the office for Rath Packing in Waterloo. After her children were born she was a homemaker for 53 years. She enjoyed ice skating, boating and attending antique car shows with her husband. Survivors include her son, Dan Kimball, of Dalton, Alabama; a daughter, Diane Delagardelle, of Galena, Illinois; four grandchildren, Tony (Laura) Stammler and Steve Stammler, both of Waterloo, Mike Stammler, of Cuba City, and Danielle Kimball, of Denver, Colorado; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Stammler, daughter of Tony and Laura, of Waterloo.
