Cuba City, Wisconsin Lorenz A. "Larry" Thommen, 85, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler with Rev. Bernard Rott and Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center before the service. Larry was born on December 30, 1929, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the son of August and Franciska Thommen. He married Evelyn L. Kirchburg in 1952 in Kieler, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2006. Larry retired from the Dubuque Packing Company in 1981. All of his life he farmed with his wife and son in the Cuba City/Kieler area. Larry took pride in collecting John Deere antique tractors. He enjoyed his morning breakfast and lunch at Katina's Kitchen, visiting with friends. Survivors include his son, Lonnie W. (Jill) Thommen, of Dickeyville; his grandchildren, Ashley (Aman) Minhaus, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Chloe Thommen, of Dickeyville, Charles L. Boyette, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Nickolas Boyette, of Hazel Green, and Baileigh Thommen, of Arizona; a great-grandson to be; a brother, Fred (Deb) Thommen, of Monroe; and three sisters, Clara Harwick of Rockford, IL, Heddy Assing, of France, and Helen Thommen, of Madison. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest, Clarence, Glen and Chris; and two sisters, Louise and Susie. A Lorenz A. "Larry" Thommen Memorial Fund has been established. Special thanks to Traci, Peggy, Melanie, Stephanie and the Hospice of Dubuque Staff; and to Martha Kreger and Joe Morris for all the hours of help and support. It meant a lot to us.
