Luella C. Brant, 92, of Kieler, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church, Kieler, with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, February 10 at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Kieler, where there will be a Parish Rosary Service at 3:40 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the parish center prior to the service. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, Wisconsin, is assisting the family. 

Luella was born on June 19, 1932, in Potosi, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Schmitz) Abing. She married Melvin Brant on May 12, 1953, at St. Andrew’s Church in Tennyson, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1991.

Luella was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, baking and her coffee group. Luella and Melvin enjoyed traveling, dining out with friends and playing in a card club. Luella’s faith was very important to her. She was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church, attended daily mass and served on the Altar Society. Above all, Luella’s family was her pride and joy. She especially loved playing games and cards with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Luella is survived by four children Diane (Kendal) Bruner and Jerry (Jill) Brant, both of Cuba City, WI, Jeff (Jacque) Brant, Cape Coral, FL, and Jay (Sarah) Brant, Platteville, WI; a daughter-in-law, Deb Brant, Kieler; three siblings, Irvin Abing, Doris Hentrich and Margaret (Joe) Hentrich; two sisters-in-law, Bernadette Abing-Williams and Paulette Abing; a brother-in-law, Jim Jungk; 15 grandchildren, Carissa (Hernan) Cornejo, Adam (Amy) Bruner, Josh (Blythe) Bruner, Michael (Haley) Bruner, Nicole (Fred) Roepsch, Heather (Nick) Droessler, Jeremy (Hannah) Brant, Brooke (Rob) Lange, Chris (Michelle) Brant, Nick (Liz) Brant, Lindsey (Klayton) Long, Brandon (Emilee) Brant, Cameron (fiancée, Savannah Hilby) Brant, Jenni Petersen-Brant, and Travis (special friend, Sarah Harris) Brant; and 31 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Brant; her parents; a son, Joseph Brant; a grandson, Ben Brant; a grandson-in-law, Eric Petersen-Brant; siblings, Marie (Harold, Jukes) Kalmes-Herrig, Berniece (Eddie, Eldon) Kieler-Kaiser, Betty Jungk, Leo Abing, Cyril (Florentine) Abing, Irene (Clarence) Seng, and Richard Abing; and in-laws, Don Williams, Bernard Hentrich, Katie Abing and Dan Joyce.
