M. Theresa Murphy

Verona, Wisconsin M. Theresa Murphy, 84, of Verona, Wisconsin, formerly of Hazel Green, Cuba City and Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at her son's home in Madison. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan and Msgr. Michael Gorman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service. Theresa was born on March 21, 1929, in Gays Mills, Wisconsin, the daughter of Vincent M. and Ellen M. (Moran) Murphy. She married Robert G. Murphy on May 20, 1948, at St. Phillips Church in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1984. Theresa spent her life as a loving homemaker. She adored her children and lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Theresa enjoyed music and cards and was known as a talented singer throughout her life. Survivors include two daughters, Dr. M. Kathleen Murphy, of Altamonte Springs, FL, and M. Peggy (Michael) Frank, of Oshkosh, WI; eight sons, Dr. Thomas (Jane) Murphy, of Montgomery, AL, Dr. Michael (Jan) Murphy, of Gilbert, AZ, Timothy (Bonny) Murphy, of Surprise, AZ, Jerome (Laura) Murphy, of Fond du Lac, WI, Robert (LaCinda Froseth) Murphy, of Gilbert, AZ, Dr. Joseph (Julie) Murphy, of Madison, WI, Dr. John Murphy, of Cross Plains, WI, and Daniel (fiancée Shelly Preiss) Murphy, of Madison, WI; five brothers, Joseph (Marjorie) Murphy, of Beaver Dam, WI, Bernard Murphy, of Janesville, WI, John (Joan) Murphy, of Aurora, CO, James Murphy, of Menominee Falls, WI, and Michael (Jamie) Murphy, of Bellflower, CA; 34 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angell Murphy; a son, Brian Murphy; three sisters, Marita Abdoo, Catherine Flaten and Monica Gorman; and her parents. A Theresa Murphy Memorial Fund has been established.
