Cuba City, Wisconsin Mabel M. Mueller, 89, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died peacefully Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. Monte Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home in Cuba City where the parish and Catholic Daughters wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church before the funeral mass. Mabel was born on September 13, 1921, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clem and Dorothy (Wiederholdt) Wiegman. She married the love of her life, Edward G. Mueller, on March 9, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2004. Mabel was a proud farm wife and mother working side by side farming for many years east of Cuba City. After retiring, Mabel and Ed moved to a new home in Cuba City and enjoyed visiting with many friends and relatives, especially her grandchildren. Mabel was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the St. Rose Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters. Surviving are two loyal sons, James (Donna) Mueller, of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Eugene (Deborah) Mueller, of Shullsburg, Wisconsin; two loving daughters, Marilyn (Bob Powers) Mueller, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and DiAnne (Chris Frey) Mueller, of St. Charles, Missouri; two sons-in-law, Clarence Berning and Jim Valaskey; three brothers, Paul (Jeannett) Wiegman, Robert (Wilma, deceased) Wiegman, and Clem (Phyllis) Wiegman; four sisters, Alice (Jim, deceased) Lux, Grace (Philip) Oyen, Mary Ann (Donald) Langmeier, and Donna Meyers; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Wiegman, and Norma (Donald) Stedman. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Judy Berning and Joyce Mueller; one brother, John Wiegman; one sister, Dorothy Wiegman; and three grandsons, Jeff, Joe and Frank Berning. A special thank you to her friend and neighbor, Ruth Slaats. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to St. Rose of Lima Church or to the St. Louis Crisis Nursery.
