Madonna C. Stelpflug

February 15, 1935 — September 30, 2013

Dickeyville, Wisconsin Madonna C. Stelpflug, 78, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, went to heaven on Monday, September 30, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 3, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home before the service. Madonna was born on February 15, 1935, in St. Catherine's, IA, the daughter of Edmund and Leona (Markus) Schuster. On May 17, 1958, she married Francis Stelpflug at St. Raphael's Cathedral in Dubuque, IA. She spent hours and hours creating heirlooms for her family including afghans, doilies and quilts. Her grandchildren will greatly miss her and her homemade goodies, especially gingerbread cookies and peanut brittle. She also loved the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers, walking, gardening and sewing. She was a woman of special skills who always amazed her family with her homemade creations. Donna will be sadly missed by her husband; six children, Steve (Delilah), of Milwaukee, Cathy (Bruce) Kohlenberg, of Montfort, Joan (Owen) Wiederholt, of Hazel Green, Dick (Paulette), of Cottage Grove, Dan (Rhonda), of Milwaukee, and Ron (Yvonne), of Ankeny, IA; 15 grandchildren, Josh Stelpflug, Gina Toms, and Ashley San Miguel, Jesse and Jolene Kohlenberg, Luke, Cody and Lacey Wiederholt, Scott, Michael and Alec Stelpflug, Mackenzie, Danika and Rylee Stelpflug and Gabriella Stelpflug; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold Schuster, of Dubuque, IA, and Alan Schuster, of Platteville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Naudine Stelpflug; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, especially her angel of the day, Katie G, and the Medical Associates Oncology Department especially Dr. Lawrence Kukla and his staff. A Madonna C. Stelpflug Memorial Fund has been established.
