Benton, Wisconsin Marc L. Rath, 43, of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, formerly of Benton, Wisconsin, died Friday, November 29, 2013, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 1:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the service. Marc was born on August 9, 1970, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Steven L. and Debra J. (Gross) Rath. He graduated from Benton High School in 1988. He attended NICC in Peosta graduating in 2007 as a respiratory therapist. Marc worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee since 2008 and was extremely dedicated to each patient and his work. Marc's children were the most important part of his life as was his family. He was a master fisherman, dedicated hunter, and outdoorsman who spent his time going after "the big one." Marc was a dedicated father sharing and teaching his children his skills and beliefs as a conservationist and the importance of catch and release. Survivors include a daughter, Holly Rath, and a son, Alex Rath, both of Belmont; a stepdaughter, Breanna "Bree" Becker, of Belmont; his mother, Deb (Tom) Slater, of Benton; his father, Steve (Roseanne) Rath, of Iowa City, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Esther Rath, of Dubuque; and three brothers, Joseph A. Slater, of Benton, Kevin (Jolene) Slater, of Argyle, Wisconsin, and Ron (Kim) Slater, of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his former wife, Annette Hooks, of Belmont. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Loretta Gross. A Marc L. Rath Memorial Fund has been established.
