Cuba City, Wisconsin Marcella E. “Marcie” Murphy, 86, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish and Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary will be at 2:40 p.m. Friends may also call from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service. Marcie was born on March 6, 1925, in Fennimore, Wisconsin, the daughter of Vern C. and Gertrude (Karasek) Eisele. She attended Fennimore High School and graduated from Patricia Stevens Finishing School in Chicago, Illinois. Marcie married Luke T. “Tom” Murphy on January 26, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore. They were blessed with eight beautiful children. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2009. Marcie was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #4, Cole Acres Country Club, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Marcie was a founding member of Mazzuchelli Citizens Inc. and spent many devoted hours working with the children there. She was an avid golfer and loved being on the golf course with her golf buddies. Marcie enjoyed being a clown in parades for the VFW Auxiliary. Her joys were her family and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (Jay) Cherry, of Maquoketa, Iowa, Joan Moffatt, of McFarland, and Teresa M. Murphy, of Cuba City; four sons, Michael T. (Linda) Murphy, of Cuba City, David O. Murphy, of Rockton, Illinois, Timothy J. (Kathy) Murphy, of Platteville, and John J. Murphy, of Fennimore; a son-in-law, Terry Hollander, of Bagley; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Schuppener, of Platteville; two sisters, Sister Margaret Eisele, of Barrington, Illinois, and Elaine (Dick) Nelson, of Fennimore; a brother, Vern C. Eisele, of Florence, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Carol Eisele, of Fennimore; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Hollander; a son-in-law, Jim Leibold; a grandson-in-law, Brett Runde; a great-granddaughter, Kailee Kunkel; two sisters, Mary Philipps and Barbara Tuckwood; and two brothers, Anthony Eisele and Francis Eisele. A Marcella E. “Marcie” Murphy Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank Doctors Carr and Ahmed, Park Place Memory Care, the angels of Southwest Health Center Nursing Home and Hospice of Dubuque.
