Friends may call from 3-8 P.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Casey Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 123 North Jackson in Cuba City, Wisconsin. Friends may also call from 11:30 A.M. -12:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City. The service will be officiated by Rev. David Flanagan and by Marge’s great nephew, Rev. Randy Timmerman. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery. Marge was born to Peter H. and Christina (Folmer) Timmerman on March 1, 1917, in Jamestown Township, Wisconsin. She grew up on the family farm in Kieler, Wisconsin. On June 13, 1939, she married Ervin W. Schollmeyer at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler. To this union, were born seven children. First came six girls and then, finally, a boy. Her husband preceded her in death on September 28, 1997. Marge and Erv worked side by side on their farm in rural Cuba City until 1961, when they moved to their new home in Cuba City. Marge was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish. She belonged to the Council of Catholic Women. She loved playing euchre. Marge was a devoted mother, grandmother and “Grandma Great” who cherished time with her family. She was known for her chicken noodle soup and turkey and dressing sandwiches. She was the “go-to” seamstress for clothing repairs. She loved to crochet. Her life was her family. Her last big party was to host 49 people for a Christmas Eve Celebration in her home for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marge led a joyful life which was reflected in her keen sense of humor and generosity. She was deeply grateful for the many blessings in her life. During times of sorrow, she drew strength from her great faith and unwavering trust in God and instilled this same faith in her family. It was this faith that sustained Marge and her family when her eldest daughter Mary Ann, son-in-law Jim, and their four children were all killed in a tragic accident on July 24, 1985. Even at 97, Marge was able to enjoy living in her own home. She also enjoyed many outings with family and friends. She was so blessed to have the help of her family and her wonderful friend, neighbor and caregiver, Janice Puls. Marge’s love and generous spirit will be missed by all. Marge is survived by her children: Elaine (John) Staver, Jeanette (Ernie Mergen) Nodorft, all of Cuba City, Ruth (Larry Schueler) Driscoll, Sharon (Bob) Kopp, Jerry (Marlene) Schollmeyer, all of Dubuque. Her grandchildren: Paula (Tony) Schwabe of Sun Prairie, WI, Tim (Kristin) Staver of Mineral Point, WI; Staci (Steve) Graber of Cuba City. A Margaret Schollmeyer Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials may also be made to the James Carl Family Memorial Scholarship fund. The family wishes to thank the Cuba City Fire and Rescue Squad and the excellent staff at the Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Above all, much gratitude to her friend and caregiver, Janice Puls, for her many years of friendship, compassionate care and devotion. Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you... I loved you so - 'twas Heaven here with you! Isla Paschal Richardson
