Margaret was born on October 12, 1920, in Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Dalsing) DeMuth. She married Joseph L. Runde on September 25, 1945, at St. Joseph’s Church in Sinsinawa. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2006. They farmed on the family farm near Hazel Green. Margaret was a member of St. Francis de Sales Council of Catholic Women. Survivors include her nine children, Robert (Jean) Runde, of Hazel Green, Charles (Cindy) Runde, of Platteville, Linda (Charles) Hignite, of San Jose, California, John (Cami) Runde, of Lancaster, Barbara (Daryl) Neyens, of Austin, Texas, Susan (Steve) Wyborny, of Mason City, Iowa, Ellen (Dr. Frederick) Asmussen, of Dubuque, Laura (Dr. Patrick) Murphy, of Richland Center, and Ann (Gary) Neis, of Benton; two sisters, Lucille Busch, of Dickeyville, and Rosalyn Doyle, of Hazel Green; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gerard; a great-granddaughter, Kelli; and five brothers, John, Alfred, Clarence, Walter, and LaVern. In lieu of flowers, a Margaret R. Runde Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Manor and Dawn at Hospice of Dubuque.
