Tennyson, Wisconsin Marie J. Vogelsberg, 93, formerly of Tennyson, Wisconsin, was greeted by the Lord on January 5, 2017, in Texas where she spent her winters. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Thomas Church in Potosi with Rev. Richard Leffler officiating. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery in Tennyson. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Marie was born on January 30, 1923, to F. Rickert Tobin and Bertha Pluemer Tobin on the family farm in Potosi Township. Marie married Milton Vogelsberg in St. Thomas Church, Potosi, on June 3, 1941, and they raised their four children in Tennyson, Wisconsin. Marie’s first jobs were on the family farm as her mother died when she and her siblings were very young. She quickly learned how to cook and contribute to a family that a father and uncle were left to raise. After marriage she began working at the Battery Factory in Dubuque. Then after raising her own four children, she began working with the Grant Co. Social Services where she made numerous friends. She was an exceptionally kind lady that has helped so many by her acts of unselfishness. Marie and Milt’s love for traveling led to her planning family vacations to every state in the U.S. Together they also vacationed abroad. Children and grandchildren were included in weekend camping trips. Upon their retirement, they explored the southern states and ended up in Mission, TX. Marie continued to be a snow-bird after Milton’s death in 2005. Marie was a lifelong and active member of St. Andrew-Thomas Parish. She had a strong faith in God and a strong love for life and her family. If Marie wasn’t preparing meals, sewing, baking birthday cakes or babysitting, she was visiting and helpings others. Even at the age of 93 she was an active volunteer for nonprofit organizations in Grant County, Mission, TX and St. Cloud, MN. Family and friends remember Marie saying that the key to old age is to stay active. Because of a mutual love of card playing, Marie and Carl Musielewicz met in Mission, Texas, and were married in 2010. They spent their summers between Carl’s lake home in St. Cloud, MN. and Marie’s apartment in Tennyson, WI. While spending some of the summer in Minnesota, Marie developed a love of fishing and boating on their lake. Marie is survived by her husband, Carl, and her children, John (Bonnie) Vogelsberg, of Tennyson, Jean (Jerry) Close, of Riverside, CA., and Patrick (Linda) Vogelsberg, and Kathy Elskamp, both of Tennyson. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Robert (Pam) Musielewicz, Janice (Joe) Nargeli, Daniel (Ann) Musielewicz, Ann (Tom) Allenstein, William Musielewicz, and Vickie (Del) Johannes. Jointly there are 64 grandchildren. Marie was greeted at the gate by her parents; Milton; three brothers, Marvin, William and John Tobin; a sister, Erma David; and a son-in-law Gary Elskamp.
