Marie M Lolwing

Hazel Green, Wisconsin Marie M. Lolwing, 88, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died suddenly Thursday, March 6, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Hazel Green with Rev. Kenneth Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the church before the service. Marie was born on November 29, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Schilling) Wernimont. She married Mello J. "Mel" Lolwing on August 18, 1948, at St. Philomena's Church in Asbury, Iowa. They have been married for 66 years. Marie and Mel farmed just west of Hazel Green until retirement. Marie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church for many years. She enjoyed going dancing wherever there was music and playing euchre. Marie prided herself on her garden and early tomatoes. She always put her son, Merlin (still living at home), first. Survivors include her husband, Mello "Mel"; a daughter, Jean (Patrick) Johll, of Hazel Green; three sons, Kenneth (Darlene) Lolwing, of Winter Haven, Florida, and Merlin Lolwing and Gary (Kathy) Lolwing, both of Hazel Green; a sister, Marcella (Donald) Jewett, of Asbury, Iowa; a brother, Victor (Pauline) Wernimont, of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; three grandchildren, Brandy, Jeffry and Stacey; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant children, Judith Ann, Dale Joseph and Dean Joseph; her parents; her sisters, Kathryn and Loretta; and her brothers, Leo, Joseph, Walter, John, Ray, Clarence and Vincent. A Marie M. Lolwing Memorial Fund has been established.
