Monroe, Wisconsin Marion E. Sailing, 92, of Monroe, Wisconsin, formerly of Platteville and Avoca, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Monroe Manor in Monroe. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at the Avoca Bible Church in Avoca, Wisconsin with Pastor Joel Bauman officiating. Burial will be in the Avoca Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Marion was born on October 1, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Grover D. and Clara M. (Hollmann) Smythe. She married Frederick A. Sailing on June 22, 1946, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1999. Marion loved animals and enjoyed cooking, gardening, writing, and reading. She was deeply religious and studied the Bible. Marion taught the Pioneer Girls Bible Club which was associated with the Bible Church. Survivors include a daughter, Janice (David) Berding, of Brodhead, WI; a son, Ronald (Marcia) Sailing, of Elko, Nevada; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Grover and Gordon Smythe.
