Cuba City, Wisconsin Martha M. Wetter, 97, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Monday, January 20, 2014, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service. Martha was born on November 23, 1916, in Danbury, Iowa, the daughter of John and Alosia (Somers) Folks. She married Robert Wetter on May 8, 1937, at St. Mary's Church in Galena, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1979. Martha graduated from Danbury High School in 1934. As a young woman she worked as a waitress in the Cozy Café in Galena where she met her husband Bob. During World War II she worked at the Burgess Battery Factory in Savanna, Illinois, making batteries for the war effort. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Cuba City Hospital until her retirement. Martha was a dedicated homemaker and loved to garden, grow flowers and do crafts. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Churches in Galena and Barneveld, Wisconsin, St. Clement's Church in Lancaster, and currently St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. She belonged to the Altar Societies of each of these churches, the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary in Barneveld, and the Widow's NAIM Society. Martha also belonged to a woman's club in Lancaster and had many friends. Her greatest joy was doing things with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha was loved and admired by her family. She will be sorely missed, but kept alive in their hearts. Survivors include six daughters, Bobbie Lange, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Judy (Ronny) Beets, of Hazelhurst, Wisconsin, Kathy Simon, of West Palm Beach, Florida, Chris (Gary) Haas, of Lancaster, Joan Rowell, of Orland Park, Illinois, and Linda (Dan) Pelgrin, of Verona, Wisconsin; three sons, Stan (Janet) Wetter, of Cuba City, Bill Wetter, of DeForest, Wisconsin, and Steve (Kim) Wetter, of Dubuque; a sister, Stella Burlage, of Galena; 30 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Leonard, George and Francis Folks; a sister, Louise Stodden; two grandsons, Dan Simon and Jacob Haas; two great-grandchildren, Megan Bertz and Calvin Haas; two sons-in-law, Bill Lange and Gene Rowell; and a daughter-in-law, Becky Wetter. Memorials will be given to the American Heart Association.
