Mary H. Leifker Mueller

July 8, 1919 — March 2, 2015

Cuba City, Wisconsin Mary H. Leifker Mueller, 95, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City surrounded by her family. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in Nativity BVM Cemetery in Menominee, Illinois. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8-8:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home before the service. Mary was born on July 8, 1919, in Menominee, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Kopel) Tranel. She married Albertus Leifker on March 30, 1937. He passed away on November 20, 1966. She later married Orville Mueller in 1970. He passed away on February 1, 1999. Mary worked at St. Rose School as a cook for over twenty years. She retired and then became a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for over twenty five years. She also worked at the local elections for many years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and the Council of Catholic Women. Mary loved watching the Cubs and playing euchre. Mary is survived by her five children; Jeanne (John) Frantzen, of Dubuque, Merle (Pat) Leifker, of Spring Green, Wisconsin, Bob (Rita) Leifker, of Cuba City, Mary Kay Leifker, of Chicago, and Marlene Derby, of Cuba City; a daughter-in-law, Carol Leifker, of Thornton, Colorado; eighteen grandchildren, and twenty nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four stepchildren, Roger Mueller, of Benton, Sharon (Roger) Dodds, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Barbara Jackson, of Dunedin, Florida, and Sandy (Michael) Meyers, of Greenfield, Wisconsin; a step-daughter-in-law, Marsha Mueller, of Cuba City; fifteen step-grandchildren; and many step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Leifker; a sister, Florence (Bill) Vaassen; a brother, Albert (Mary) Tranel; a stepson, Ronald Mueller; and a step son-in-law, Rich Jackson.
