Hazel Green, Wisconsin Mary L. Jegerlehner, 85, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green with Pastor Rodney Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Green Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church before the service. Mary was born on December 27, 1926, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry A. and Charlotte (Fox) Andrews. She married Albert G. Jegerlehner Jr. on her 21st birthday, December 27, 1947, at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2009. Mary went to Beauty Academy to become a beautician; she later decided that wasn't her cup of tea so she went to Pioneer College and received her teacher's certificate. Mary taught at several one room schools, Buncombe and later at Miltown after starting her family. She later went back to college to receive her degree with her son Jim upon his high school graduation. Mary went on to teach third grade at the Hazel Green Elementary School, retiring in 1987 after teaching for 19 years. Her favorite saying was she could not pass the third grade. Mary loved to sew and also tend to her flowers and garden. After her retirement Mary and Al took many trips across the nation. Mary was a member of the Hazel Green United Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Donald L. (Peggy) Jegerlehner, of Arena, Wisconsin, James L. (Linda) Jegerlehner, of Dubuque, and David L. (fiancée, Janis Kaufman) Jegerlehner, of Hazel Green; three grandchildren, Lynn, Matt and Ann; and two sisters, Martha Sauthoff, of Sebring, Florida, and Jane (Robert) Vanderheyden, of Stockton, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Paul Andrews; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Andrews and Gerti Voelkli; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Sauthoff. In lieu of flowers a Mary L. Jegerlehner Memorial Fund has been established.
