Mary was born on November 3, 1937, in Menominee, Illinois, the daughter of John and Basilla (Hendricks) Schonhoff. She married Edward Snyder on February 26, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Church in Sinsinawa. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2004. Mary was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and served on its funeral dinner committee. She was famous for her pies, bread and cookies. Survivors include a daughter, Beth (Dennis) Snyder-Petrowitz, of East Lansing, Michigan; five sons, Gary (Jeanne) Snyder, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, Ronald (Karen) Snyder, of Peosta, Iowa, Douglas Snyder, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Alan (Micki) Snyder, of Alto, Michigan, and Kurt (Angie) Snyder, of Kieler, Wisconsin; two sisters, Pat McLaughlin, of Dubuque, Iowa, and Elaine (John) Droessler, of Kieler, Wisconsin; a brother, Robert (Barb) Schonhoff, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin; and fifteen grandchildren, Quinn, Kristina, Sean, Jill, Laura, Alexander, Lauren, Mary Frances, Zackery, Nathan, Jacob and Kathryn Snyder, Brad, Adam, and Andrea Petrowitz. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Basilla Schonhoff, and three infant children, Joan, David and Kevin Snyder. The family extends a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at The Finley Hospital, Sandy from Finley Home Health Care and the Hazel Green Rescue Squad.
