Peg was born on June 28, 1917 in New Diggings Township, the daughter of James Luther and Grace (Blinkensopp) Rowe. She married Charles C. “Neil” Copeland on July 3, 1937 in Galena, Illinois. Peg was a member of the Leadmine Primitive Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and Treasurer of the Sunday School and the church, and a delegate to the P.M. church conference for many years. She worked as a homemaker, at the Leadmine Store, Kresege’s in Dubuque, Iowa, and retired from Microswitch in Warren, Illinois. Survivors include two daughters, Pauline (Albert) Zeier, of Fall River, Wisconsin, and Donna (Roger) Wetzel, of Okee, Wisconsin; two sons, John (Anne) Copeland, of East Dubuque, Illinois, and Stephen Copeland, of Leadmine, Wisconsin; two sisters, Emma Meier, of New Glarus, Wisconsin, and Dolly (Fred) Palfrey, of Shullsburg, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Peg was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Ralph Rowe; and a great-grandson, Joshua Zander. The family would like to give special thanks to Rae Popp as caregiver, and a special neighbor, Vernon Brink. Also thanks to Lafayette County Nurse, Joanne Huntington, special thanks to Dr. Caylor and the nurses and staff at Mercy Hospital.
