Dickeyville, Wisconsin Maxine M. Kowalski, 95, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Luther Manor in Dubuque, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home before the service. Maxine was born on June 2, 1919, in Benton, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Anna (Schmeider) Cross. She married LaVern Kowalski on August 31, 1939, at St. Patrick's Church in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1994. Maxine enjoyed casinos, bingo, camping and fishing. She was a dedicated Cubs fan. Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Mike) Dalsing, of Lake Wales, Florida, and Janann Kieler, of Dickeyville; a sister, Jeanine Burbach, of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Johnell "Jack", and Jerald "Jerry"; a daughter-in-law, Janet Kowalski; her brothers, Merlin and Doc Cross; her sisters, Dolores Masuen, Modesta Kemp, Lillian Pieper, Anne Marie Klein and Eileen Driscoll. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be given to Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville.
