Cuba City, Wisconsin Merlin B. “Tony” Puls, 74, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Monday, October 17, 2011, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery in Dickeyville. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service. Tony was born on February 4, 1937, in rural Cuba City, the son of Urban and Mary (Vaassen) Puls. He married Joyce Udelhofen on September 10, 1957. She preceded him in death on April 27, 1996. He married Shirley Heil Redfern on September 13, 1997. Tony retired in 2001 after 47 years from Dubuque Electric Motor Service. He also farmed on Puls Road for many of those years. Tony loved his family, especially time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and playing cards with his own special rules when needed. Tony also enjoyed spending the winter with his Florida friends. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Vicki (Alan) Revenig, of Amboy, IL, Debbie (Brian) Lambert, of Kellnersville, WI, and Toni (John) Carpenter, of Morris, IL; three sons, Rick (Debbie) Puls, of Prairie du Sac, WI, Dan (Sue) Puls, of Orfordville, WI, and Gary Puls, of Jewell, IA; a sister, Jeanette (Paul) Wiegman, of Cuba City; his stepchildren, Mark Redfern, of Cuba City, Scott (Ja) Redfern, of Kokomo, IN, Kurt (Lisa) Redfern, of Thorp, WI, and Jay (Brenda) Redfern, of Dickeyville; fourteen grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Snyder, and a daughter-in-law, Paula Puls. In lieu of flowers, a Merlin B. “Tony” Puls Memorial Fund has been established.
