Nancy A. Kunkel, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday evening, November 2, 2017, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, where the parish wake service will be at 4:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Monday at the church. Nancy was born in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Helen (Brannon) Hauser. She grew up in Cuba City and attended the University of Platteville. On December 31, 1955, she married Earl Kunkel to whom she was married for 62 years. Nancy worked for many years teaching first grade at Holy Ghost Catholic School in Dickeyville and also as a librarian at the Cuba City Public Library while raising her three kids. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Cuba City Rescue Squad as well as the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Earl; her three children, Jill Kunkel, of San Diego, Nicholas (Joelle Kotecki) Kunkel, of Madison, and Peter Kunkel, of Cuba City; one grandchild, Charles Peter Kunkel, of Madison; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward (Pat) Kunkel, of Dubuque, JoAnn (Harry) Kruser, of Kieler, Marlene (George) Schuster, of Kieler, Martin (Jeanne) Kunkel, of Kieler, Patsy (Bob) Tigges, of Dubuque, Judy (Don) Takes, of Hazel Green, Cookie (Bill) Busch, of Dickeyville, Randy (Kim) Kunkel, of Dubuque and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy is also survived by her faithful canine friend, Andy. She was pre-deceased by a son, Daniel Earl Kunkel; her parents, George and Helen Hauser; brothers, David (Wilma) Hauser and John (Carolyn) Hauser; a sister-in-law, Norma Kunkel; and a brother-in-law, Roger Budden. A Nancy A. Kunkel Memorial Fund has been established for the Cuba City Public Library or the Cuba City Rescue Squad.
