Norma J. Hasken

Dickeyville, Wisconsin Norma J. Hasken, 78, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, died Monday, June 6, 2016, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Deacon Steve MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Norma was born on December 5, 1937, in rural Lancaster, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clark and Vida (Burton) Roesch. She married Eugene "Gene" F. Hasken on April 12, 1958. She taught first grade at Holy Ghost Catholic School in Dubuque, Iowa, for twenty-four years. Her first teaching job was in one of the last one-room schoolhouses in Wisconsin. Teaching was Norma's life, although her family was her first love and priority. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling and playing cards with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Gene, of Dickeyville; two daughters, Nancy (Bob) Schroeder, of Kieler and Judy (Craig Seeley) Grimes, of Dickeyville; a son, Bob (Amy Westemeier) of Dickeyville; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Lange, Craig (Maria) Schroeder, Raymond Downs, Michael (Andrea Hanger) Downs, Kaitlin (Mike) Harty, Megan and Justin Hasken, Julianne (Dan Heim) Cunningham, and Mackenzie (Morgan Steger) Cunningham; and eight great-grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Francis and Mary Hasken; a son-in-law, Ken Downs; a daughter-in-law, Julie Hasken; and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Donald Plear. A Norma J. Hasken Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank Sentinel Home Care and Hospice of Dubuque for their care and compassion.
