Norman L. Guild

December 19, 1943 — June 18, 2016

Cuba City, Wisconsin Norman L. Guild, 72, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 18, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, with Rev. Ken Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Cassville, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Casey Funeral Home in Cuba City and also from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home before the service. Norman was born December 19, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Leigh and Dorothy (Sychowski) Guild. He graduated from St. Benedict's High School in Chicago in 1961. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Hubbard on May 23, 1970, at St. Benedict's Church, also in Chicago. He was an accountant by trade and after retirement, he drove a taxi for Share Ride in Platteville. He loved to drive the taxi, golf, do yard work, and go to the casino. His favorite TV show was Pawn Stars. He enjoyed singing and listening to Roy Orbison. In May of 1963, Norm received a letter from the Mets stating that he was to be scouted to play pro baseball. He was a diehard Cubs and Bears fan, and always had the dream of the Cubs winning the World Series. Norm had the best sense of humor and could make anyone smile and laugh. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone at any time. Survivors include his wife, Betty (employed at Kwik Trip); two sons, John, of Cuba City, and Michael, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Michelle (Steve) Guild-Piatkowski, of Cuba City; a brother-in-law, Thom (Pat) Hubbard, of Antioch, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Kathy Hartwig, of Arpin, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Jerry (Rae) Culp of Arizona. Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Leigh and Dorothy; a younger brother, Steven; and a brother-in-law, Robert.
