Norman P. Larkin

Cuba City, Wisconsin Norman P. "Norm" Larkin, 88, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home before the service. Norm was born on September 21, 1925, in Louisburg, Wisconsin, the son of Phillip and Gertrude (Brant) Larkin. He married Eunice M. Schmieder on April 15, 1947, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. She preceded him in death on March 4, 2005. Norm retired from John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works on January 31, 1985, after working there 37 years. He served on the Cuba City Fire Department for 27 years from 1962-1989, serving as fire chief from 1980-1986. He also served on the Cuba City Council. Norm enjoyed spending time with his family, spending summers at Bagley with all of his good friends there, and always loved a good game of euchre. He loved to putz around his work shop in the basement and go to Culver's to eat and to Nick's Café on Sunday morning. Norm was also an avid Cub fan. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Pat) Maiers, of Holy Cross, Iowa, and LuAnn Timmerman, of Cuba City; two sons, John (Kathy) Larkin, of Mesa, Arizona, and Bob (Christine) Larkin, of Cuba City; two brothers, Kenny Larkin, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Pat Larkin, of Freeport, Illinois; a sister, Shirley Feldman, of Dubuque; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Larkin, of East Dubuque, and Milly Larkin, of Dixon, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Ronnie and Leonard Larkin; and two sisters, Mary Jane Haase and Bernice Larkin. A Norman P. "Norm" Larkin Memorial Fund has been established.
