Patricia J. “Pat” Seng, 75, of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Benton, Wisconsin, with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is assisting the family.
Pat was born on June 23, 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Oswald and Winifred (Ware) Seng. She graduated from Lancaster High School and then attended MATC in Madison for culinary school. Prior to owning Ye Olde Rock Café in Benton for 22 years, she worked at Micro Switch in Warren, Illinois, and then in the restaurant business at Wheel Inn and Hideaway Acres. Her “restaurant people” were very special to her. Pat loved going to church and bible study with the nuns. She enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren and giving them away.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Jasen) Jacobsen, Shullsburg, WI; her son, Luke (Angie Kitelinger) Curran, Platteville, WI; her grandchildren, Brooke (Griffin) Heinberg, Zachary Wedige, Nathan (Kayla Dougherty) Wedige and Trista Curran; her great-grandchildren, Hailey Rupp, Hudson and Watson Heinberg, and Graham Wedige; two sisters, Cheryl (Michael) Brase, Donahue, IA, and Phyllis (Marty) Barber, St. Louis, MO; and four brothers, Barry Seng, Springfield, IL, Curtis (Jeannie) Seng, Fennimore, WI, Peter (Lori) Seng, Rockton, IL, and Paul (Merry) Seng, Poynette, WI.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca “Becky” in 1992; two sisters, Rose Mary (Robert) Pies and Judy (Butch) Berger; her brothers, Norbert (Janice) Seng and Mark (Linda) Seng.
In lieu of flowers, a Patricia J. Seng Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807
The family would like to thank the staffs of Agrace Hospice, MercyOne Hospital, St. Dominic Villa and her wonderful neighbors, Paula Donar and Judy Kaiser.
