Paul W. Runde

Benton, Wisconsin Paul W. Runde, 65, of Monticello, Wisconsin, formerly of Benton, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Monroe Manor in Monroe. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Paul was born on August 20, 1946, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Archie and Genevieve (Salwolke) Runde. Paul served in the military from 1965-1967. He married Carol Sides on April 19, 1969, at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton. Paul worked at A.Y. McDonald’s for 42 years, retiring in August 2008. Following retirement, Paul enjoyed helping out on his family farm. Paul was a member of the Benton Fire Department for 25 years. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Packers, Badgers and the Duke Blue Devils. His favorite NASCAR driver was Matt Kenseth. Paul’s children and grandchildren were special to him. He loved spending his time sharing in their activities. Survivors include his wife, Carol; his children, Todd (Ellyn) Runde, of New Glarus, Wisconsin, Debra (Mike) Kleppe, of Urbandale, Iowa, Scott (Jaime) Runde, of Sparks, Nevada, and Mark Runde, of Beaverton, Oregon; seven grandchildren, Cole and Jordyn Runde, Erin, Ryan and Matthew Kleppe and Riese and Kaine Runde; two sisters, Audrey (Jim) Alt, of DePere, Wisconsin, and Joyce (Larry) Molitor, of Cordova, Illinois; and two brothers, Roger Runde and Leonard (Mary) Runde, both of Hazel Green. He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Larry Molitor Jr; and his in-laws, Robert and Glada Sides. A special thank you to St. Jude Hospice especially Wendy, Diane, Jessica and Brian.
