Cuba City, Wisconsin Phyllis R. Egan, 92, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be at10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City with Rev. Jasmine Tesdahl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church before the service. Phyllis was born on July 10, 1924, in Cassville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry P. and Lottie (Rogers) Hernon. She met the love of her life on the dance floor and married Merrill J. Egan on August 8, 1944, at Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City. They farmed together for many years. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1997. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Cookie Grandma." Phyllis was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women Group. Survivors include a son, Randy (Carol) Egan, Rochester, Minnesota; a son-in-law, David Tranel, Avon Park, Florida; her grandchildren, Debra (Robert) Sutton, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, T.J. (fiancee, Denise) Tranel, Oconomowoc, Bo (Carole) Tranel, Platteville, Patti (Randy) Gregory, New Glarus, Tim (Kristin) Egan, Edmond, Oklahoma, Jamie Egan, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Melissa (Craig) Schneider, Germantown, and Jeff (Kim) Egan, Logan Square, Illinois; her great-grandchildren, Jessica and Noah Sutton, Tyler and Cassidy and Jared Tranel, Mikaela and Katherine Gregory, Makenzi and Alexi Tranel, Austin and Emilie Egan, Dalton and Makenna Egan and Fiona Schneider. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rick; a daughter, Connie Tranel; her sisters, Doris Strodtman, Vivian Biggin, and Faith Plomin; a brother, John Hernon; and a special friend, Paul Geyer.
