Rachel was born in rural Shullsburg on August 7, 1910, to Andrew and Catherine (Kennedy) O'Neill. She graduated from St. Matthew’s Parochial School in 1923 and Shullsburg High School in 1927. She received her teacher’s certificate from Platteville Normal in 1943 and taught in many area rural schools. In 1956 she received her bachelor degree from the UW Platteville and taught many years at the Benton Elementary School where she retired in 1975. For many years she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Benton. On September 26, 1942, she married Theodore Treglown at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1987. She is survived by one son, John A. Treglown, of Montello, WI; one granddaughter, Tara Treglown, of Westfield, WI; three great-grandchildren, Alexander Klebenow & Amber Alme of Belleville, WI, and Rachel Roidt of Westfield, WI; and one sister, Rosalie Leglar, of Dubuque, IA.
