Ralph C. "Spike" Brogley, 80, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at home. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City with Pastor Calvin Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville, where military honors will be accorded. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from noon until 1:15 p.m. Monday at the church before the service. Spike was born on July 8, 1932, in Harrison Township, Grant County, Wisconsin, the son of Kermit L. and Helen E. (Butson) Brogley. He married Joyce A. Rewey on January 2, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa. Spike served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He and Donny Brewer owned and operated Farmers Quality Feed Store and B&B Oil in Cuba City until 1997. After three days of retirement he went to work for his brother, Jerry, driving cars. Spike was a loving husband to his wife who he was married to for 58+ years. He was an awesome person, the world's best father and the best grandpa and great-grandfather. Spike was an avid golfer and fisherman, and loved shooting sporting clays. He loved mentoring kids through rookie golf for a number of years. Spike was also a bowler and enjoyed playing cards with his family. Spike loved his church. He was a former president of the council, a choir member, and was just generally involved in the church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Jill (Greg) Johnson, of Juneau, Wisconsin; a son, Marc Brogley, of Platteville; a sister, Carolyn (Don) Harrison, of Cuba City; and a brother, Gerald (Helen) Brogley, of Galena, Illinois; his grandchildren, Kari, Ryan, Courtney, Kevin, Erinn and Matthew; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Braedon, with two more on the way. He was preceded in death by three infant children; his parents; and two brothers, Richard and James. A Ralph C. "Spike" Brogley Memorial Fund has been established.
