Cuba City, Wisconsin Richard V. "Dick" Hoppenjan, 77, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Elk Grove Township. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church before the service. Dick was born on October 25, 1934, in Elk Grove Township, Lafayette County, the son of Charles M. and Carrie M. (Burke) Hoppenjan. He graduated from Cuba City High School in 1952 and served in the US Navy from 1953-1955. Dick married Mary Joyce Vosberg on September 3, 1955, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City. They farmed in Elk Grove Township. Dick was a member of St. Peter's Parish in rural Cuba City, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and National Farmers Organization. Survivors include his wife, Mary Joyce; four daughters, Sharon Hoppenjan, of Benton, Debora Hoppenjan, and Mary Kay Runde, both of Platteville, and Paula (Michael) Villarreal, of Stevens Point; three sons, Timothy (Connie Adsit) Hoppenjan, of Dodgeville, Michael Hoppenjan, of Dodgeville, and Roger (Debra) Hoppenjan, of Cuba City; five sisters, Eileen Simon, of Cuba City, Ann Marie Riechers, and Mary Mildred (Richard) Sorenson, both of Madison, Florence Segerstrom, of Cuba City, and Jean (Terry) Cleary, of Middleton; two brothers, Charles Hoppenjan, of Cuba City, and Robert (Renee) Hoppenjan, of Bellevue, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren, Zach Hoppenjan, LaTrisha (Dusty) Marklein, Tonya (Jeremy) Martin, Melissa (Dennis) Pierick and Curtis (Mary) Bailey, Katie, Caleb and Jonah Runde, Vincent, Nick and Tori Villarreal, and Cody, Jenna and Ryan Hoppenjan; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Helen Joyce Hoppenjan; a brother, Harold Hopppenjan; two sisters-in-law, Esther Hoppenjan and Marilyn Vosberg; five brothers-in-law, Jerome Simon, Harry Segerstrom, Joe LaRue, Guerdon Riechers and Eugene Puchalski.
