Benton, Wisconsin Robert J. Robbins, 76, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place in the Philippines at a later date. Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Benton is in charge of arrangement. Robert was born on July 8, 1937, in Benton, Wisconsin, the son of Clifford L. and Lenora L. (Hocking) Robbins. He married Milagros "Mila" Ty Querol on February 25, 1999, at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Benton. Robert attended elementary and secondary school in the village of Benton. He is a graduate in trumpet performance graduating from the U.S. Navy School of Music in Washington D.C. in 1957. He obtained a B.S. Degree in instrumental and vocal music from UW-Platteville in 1964 and an M.M.Ed in music from North Texas University in Denton, Texas, in 1967. Robert pursued a doctorate in the Field of Adult Education at UW-Madison from 1972-1974. He entertained audiences as lead trumpet in many ballroom dance bands and performed on trumpet doing radio broadcasts working both in Europe and the United States. Survivors include his wife, Mila, of Benton; one daughter, Robyn Leigh Robbins, and Daniel Webb, Robyn's fiancé, both of Capron, Illinois; a son, Jon Christopher Robbins, of Waynesville, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Nicole Marie Robbins, Nicholas Robert Robbins, and Emily Marie Legrand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford L. and Lenora L. Robbins, and a 43 year old son, Jed Robert Robbins.
