Cuba City, Wisconsin Robert J. "Bob" Schink, 89, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Manor Care in Platteville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City with Pastor Melissa Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors accorded. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. Friends may also call from 9:30 until the time of service Saturday at the church before the service. Bob was born on March 29, 1926, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the son of Myron and Pauline (Penn) Schink. He married Melvina A. "Vina" Kirkpatrick on June 30, 1951, in the Methodist Church in Darlington. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2010. Bob graduated from De Pere High School in 1944. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Bob graduated in 1950 from UW-Madison with degrees in Agricultural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of Delta Theta Sigma. He worked as a field engineer for John Deere Corporation from many years (mainly in Dubuque and Moline). Bob was a strong promoter of Cuba City and the tri-state area serving on the City of Presidents Committee in Cuba City, and the Tri-State Tourism Council. Bob was the first recipient of the Bob Schink Tri-State Tourism Council Award which was named for him. He was a collector of all things John Deere and enjoyed golfing. Bob was a founding member of Cole Acres Country Club. He was a member of the Cuba City Lions Club and Faith Lutheran Church. For many years he and Vina wintered in Sun City, Arizona. Survivors include his sons, John (Teri), of Boise, Idaho, Guy (Janna), of DeForest, and Robert, of Madison; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Schink, of Potosi; a brother, Paul (Charlotte) Schink, of De Pere; a sister-in-law, Donna Schink, of Fort Atkinson; eleven grandchildren, Lindsay (Jared) Theunis, Henry, Julia (Matt) DeLong, Ray, Daniel, Josiah, Kaitlyn (Tim) Drebert, Raechel, Heather (Derek) Storkson, Kirk and Will; and seven great-grandchildren, Stella, Amani, Tanner, Eva, Abigail, Tenor and Cadence. Also surviving are special friends from Cuba City, Pam, Mark and John. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Daniel and Thomas; and a brother, Donald. A Robert J. "Bob" Schink Memorial Fund has been established. The family wishes to thank Unity Point Finley Hospital and Manor Care in Platteville for their wonderful care of Bob.
