Robert J. “Rob” Wilson, 45, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green with Rev. Cy Weisensel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery next to his brother Gary. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, where the Rosary will be said at 12:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Monday at the church before the service. Rob was born on July 7, 1964, in Cuba City, the son of William “Bill” and Geraldine (Becker) Wilson. He married the former Lori Jansen on April 29, 1989, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler, Wisconsin. Rob was hard working and a dedicated worker at FDL for fourteen years, and also for Thermoline for fourteen years. He was a captain for the Hazel Green Fire Department and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Rob was a soccer and T-ball coach, each for three years. He also worked at the church for eleven years. The greatest joy in Rob’s life was his son Justin. He loved to spend time with his family, and especially adored his son. He was a hunter all of his life and was teaching his son to hunt. Rob was a caring, giving person who loved everyone, and everyone loved him. Survivors include his wife, Lori, of Hazel Green; one son, Justin, at home; his parents, Bill and Geraldine Wilson, of Hazel Green; two sisters, Gwen Harwick, of Hazel Green, and Jan (Sam) Miller, of Galena, Illinois; four brothers, Bill (Linda) Wilson, of Freeport, Illinois, Greg (Ellen) Wilson, of Eagle River, Alaska, Rod (Sue) Wilson, of LaValle, Wisconsin, and James (Terri) Wilson, of Hazel Green; his mother and father-in-law, Earl and Doris Jansen, of Cuba City; a sister-in-law, Julie (Paul) Mowbray, of Cuba City; a brother-in-law, Ronald Jansen, of Dubuque; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews with whom he shared a very special bond. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary in 1993, and a brother-in-law, Ron Harwick in 2008. A Rob Wilson Memorial Fund has been established.
