Ron George Mueller

July 10, 1942 — October 20, 2009

Ronald George Mueller, 67, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 11:a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City with Pastor Denise Anderson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City and after 10:00 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church. Ron was born on July 10, 1942, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Orville and Marie (Herbst) Mueller. He married Marsha Taylor on Dec. 1, 1973. Ron was the oldest of five children. He graduated in 1960 from Cuba City High School. He owned Ron’s Confections, worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Grant County Sheriff Department and drove semi for the Dubuque Packing Company and H&W Motor Express until his retirement in 2002. He was a charter member of Cole Acres Golf Course and volunteered for the Junior Golf program. He also served as a past president at Faith Lutheran Church. Ron was avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed hunting, golfing, and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Marsha; his children, Mark (Nancy) Mueller, of Hazel Green, and their children Nathan and Rachel Mueller, Mike (Julie) Mueller, of Rapid City, SD, and their daughters Tiara and Marisa Mueller, Rhonda (Cameron) Harstad, of Hazel Green and their son Adam Wills, Eric Mueller, of Indianapolis, IN, and Lisa (Rondell) Greenwood, of Cuba City and their daughter Kierra Greenwood; a brother, Roger Mueller, of Hazel Green; three sisters, Sharon (Roger) Dodds, of Waukesha, WI, Barb (Rich) Jackson, of Dunedin, FL, and Sandy (Mike) Meyer, of Greenfield, WI; his step-mother, Mary Mueller, of Cuba City; three step-sisters, Jeanne (John) Frantzen, of Key West, Iowa, Mary Kay Leifker, of Chicago, IL, and Marlene Derby, of Cuba City; a step-sister-in-law, Carol Leifker, of Brighton, CO; two step-brothers, Merlin (Pat) Leifker, of Spring Green, WI, and Robert (Rita) Leifker, of Cuba City; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arden and Lorrainne Taylor of Cuba City; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron Taylor, of Bloomington, WI, Chris (John) Kuepers, of Dickeyville, Kim (Denny) Medley, of Platteville, Jim (Lynne) Taylor, of Dubuque, Bob (Debbie) Taylor, of Platteville, Todd (Kelly) Taylor, of Oconomowoc, WI, and Tom (Carrie) Taylor, of Potosi, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers a Ron Mueller Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank Dubuque Oncology and Dr. Hermann and his staff.
