Cuba City, Wisconsin Ronald J. Busch, 75, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors accorded. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the church where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is serving the family. Ron was born on October 11, 1943, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Florence (Alt) Busch. He married Karen L. Udell on February 8, 1969, at Holy Ghost Church in Dickeyville. Ron served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict in the helicopter squadron. After serving in the navy he worked as a bartender and really enjoyed the people he waited on. Ron began working as an apprentice at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works, later becoming an electrician in the experimental department. During this time he was a member of UAW Local 94 and served as a union steward. Ron and Karen resided in Cuba City where they raised five daughters. He was active in St. Rose of Lima Parish, serving as CCD coordinator and assisting with a variety of parish activities including the annual Turkey Supper. Ron was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #765, serving as Grand Knight of the organization. He belonged to American Legion Henry Pinch Post #104 where he served in several offices and participated in parades and military honors ceremonies for fellow veterans. Ron was also a member of the Cuba City Volunteer Fire Department. A very devoted husband and father, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and working on cars. Survivors include his wife, Karen; five daughters, Ronda (Mike) Rindy, Strum, WI, Robin Hoffman, Cuba City, WI, Rebecca (Jason) Runde, Hazel Green, WI, Renee (Kirk) Myers, Greenwood, WI, and Rachele Richard, Cuba City, WI; a sister, Betty Jean Troia, Madison, WI; two brothers, Ken (Rosalie) Busch, Orangeville, IL, and Michael (Katie) Busch, Plymouth, MN; seventeen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A special thank you to the staff of Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque.
