Leadmine, Wisconsin Ruby I. Farrey, 89, of Leadmine, Wisconsin, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Benton with Pastor Rodney Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Primitive Methodist Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton. Friends may also call from 9:00-10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church before the service. Ruby was born on October 2, 1922, in New Diggings Township, the daughter of John “Jack” and Minnie (Pratt) Tippett. She married Lloyd G. “Tyke” Farrey on June 23, 1947, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1993. During World War II Ruby worked at the Savanna Ordinance Depot, Burgess Battery in Galena, and the Woolen Mill. After the war she worked at the canning factory in Cuba City. In later years she did in-home child care. Ruby gathered and refurbished stuffed animals for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UW-Hospitals and Clinics. She loved her family, raising three children and two grandchildren. Ruby also loved her cats, taking care of any stray cat that came to her door. Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Duane) Clough, of Dubuque; two sons, Terry (Mary) Farrey, of Benton, and Stan (Chris) Farrey, of Shullsburg; a sister, Frances Stotmeister, of Cuba City; seven grandchildren, Wendy, Kurt, Bradley, Brianne, Dustin, Heather and Eric; and seven great-grandchildren, Kari, Jessica, Katlyn, Shelby, Ellie, Abrielle, and Ireland. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Al Stotmeister.
