Sally Jo Bennett, 72, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Casey Funeral Home in Benton. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Sally Jo was born on August 5, 1937, in Benton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harold and Naomi (Mills) Reinke. She married Lee Bennett in June, 1959, in Benton, WI. She worked for many years at the Cuba City Medical Center before earning her RN degree from Cochise College, Douglas, AZ. She continued her nursing career at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, before retiring and returning home to live in Cuba City. Sally Jo loved animals, especially her dogs Darby and Buster, and supported the Humane Society. She loved to sew and many of the clothes her children wore to school had the “Handmade by Sally” tag sewn in them. Sally Jo loved the Green Bay Packers and was a fan of Brett Favre. Survivors include a daughter LeAnn (Patrick) Bruno, of Monroe, WI; a son, David (Linda) Bennett, of Hazel Green, WI; a sister, Judy (Jim) Timmins, of Marshfield, MA; five grandchildren, Danielle and Cassandra Frankel, Stephen, Michael, and Cherie Bennett; and two step-grandchildren, Drew and Ann Bruno. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Southwest Health Center, Cuba City, WI, and Dr. Jeff White for the loving care they showed Sally Jo throughout her stay there.
