Cuba City, Wisconsin Sharon Marie (Lange) Sweet, 57, of rural Cuba City, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at home. She died surrounded by family, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be noon Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Friends may call from 9-11:45 a.m. Saturday, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Sharon was born on November 5, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Mary Lee (Boever) Lange. A woman of wonderful heart and beautiful curls, Sharon had a passion for loving her family unconditionally, nurturing children, and growing flowers. Her love of family was most evident in the raising of her five sons, with their father, Dennis Sweet, and the care and concern she showed for her grandchildren. Her boys always knew her self-sacrificing love, often aware that she put their needs before her own. She was the glue that held them together and the confidant that listened without judgment. In addition, Sharon spent 22 years serving the special education students of the Platteville Public Schools as a Special Education Teaching Assistant. Children truly were the center of her life! Often found in the outdoors during the summer months, she had a great belief in things of nature and loved to try natural remedies for ailments. Even as the cancer was progressing, she believed in the benefits of natural oils and used them regularly. The family is comforted to know that Sharon will be joining her mother, Mary Lee; her two sisters, Rosie and Rhonda; her brother, Jerry; her niece, Kelli Runde; and her special friend, Don Arensdorff in heaven. What happiness to be home with them! Surviving Sharon are her five sons, Casey (Brooke) Sweet and Chris Sweet, both of Cuba City, Cody (Jennifer) Sweet of Baraboo, Wisconsin, Jeff Sweet, of Cuba City and Jesse (Nikki) Sweet, of DeForest, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Devon, Addison, Avery, Shaylen, Kleyten, Riddick, Kaylyn, Rain, Alex, Khloe, Zoey, Anthony, and baby Sweet who will arrive in August; her father, Earl Lange, of Cuba City; her siblings, Roxie (Keith) Vaassen, of Dickeyville, Jeff (Jean) Lange, of Dubuque and Vickie (Jay) Runde, of Mineral Point; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Sharon’s memory. Sharon wished to extend a special thanks to her dad, Earl, and sister, Roxie, for the loving care they provided throughout her journey. Special thanks to her Golden Girls for their support; to the chemo and oncology nurses and Dr. Eric Engelman for their constant encouragement; and to Hospice of Dubuque for their gentle care.
