Benton, Wisconsin Sherill Lynn Miller 63, of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Dubuque with Pastor Pamela Star officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 123 N. Jackson St., in Cuba City. Friends may also call after 9:30 Monday at the church before the service. Sherill was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on March 28, 1950, one of ten children, to Ivan Leo and Mary Ann (Shireman) Miller of Dubuque. She married James R. Mayland on February 14, 1997, in Galena, Illinois. Sherill worked as a foreman at Advance Transformer in Platteville, Wisconsin, for 15 years. She graduated from Northeast Iowa Community College with a degree in marketing and then worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a business analyst from which she retired a little over a year ago. Sherill and Jim shared 35 fun and memorable years together. She loved being outside tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. At family gatherings she enjoyed reminiscing with family and telling funny stories about her childhood. The one we will all remember is her having to chase Kevin, naked at two years old, running down the street. Sherill loved animals (JR, Sheenah, Tigger, Bajah, Shnoodles, Frank, Farrah and Sam) and made them an important part of her life. Everyone Sherill worked with or went to school with loved her and expressed their gratitude and admiration for her. Sherill had an infectious smile and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Sherill is survived by her husband, Jim; two children she taught so much and will be sadly missed by, a daughter, Lorinda T. (Mark) Hinderman, of Potosi, and a son, Harry A. (Kelly) Blewett, of Dubuque; three grandchildren, Nikole Blewett, Alyssa Hinderman and Harry Blewett; and her siblings, Ivan, Kevin, Dana, Danise and Angie. She has several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Sherill was proceeded in death by her parents and her siblings, Roxanne Miller, LeeAnne VanLysol, Keith "Randy", and Kim. Sherill’s family would like to thank friends and family for their thoughts, prayers and support. Thank you for the special gifts and special moments. Sherill made new friends at Hospice of Dubuque and the Finley Wendt Center. The family would like to also thank them for being so caring, supportive and professional. Your services, empathy and attention to a family’s needs are a blessing! A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Dubuque.
