Shirley A. Carter, 79, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Oak Park Place in Dubuque. Services will be noon Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Rev. Cy Weisensel officiating. Private family burial will be in the Hazel Green Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Shirley was born on January 5, 1930, in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of William and Bertha (Cromer) Feeley. She graduated from Galena High School. Shirley married Edward Carter on August 1, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Candice (Dennis) Burbach, of Hazel Green. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Feeley, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leland and Edna Carter, and a sister, Catherine, in infancy. The family requests no memorials. The family would like to thank all the staff at Oak Park Place and Hospice of Dubuque for the care they gave.
