Shirley J. Mutert

Platteville, Wisconsin Shirley J. Mutert, 75, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died Monday, December 18, 2017, at Southwest Health Center Hospital in Platteville. Services will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Rev. Bill Vasey officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in Platteville. Shirley was born on August 23, 1942, in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, the daughter of Orland and Isa (Van Buskirk) Wintjen. She married Leroy Mutert on June 20, 1959. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1994. Shirley loved to play bingo, do crosswords and was a great cook. Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Mike) Stymiest, Tondia (Ed McClain) Mutert and Karen Harris, all of Platteville; Patti (John) Stanton, of Cuba City, and Peggy (Jayde) Fischer, of Sydney, Montana; her sons, Howard Mutert and T.J. Mutert, both of Platteville; a brother, Larry Wintjen, of Wauchula, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Cora Lee, Florene, Patricia and Lilly Darlene; a brother Howard; a granddaughter, Jayde; a great-grandson, Maddox; and a great-granddaughter, Chastity.
