Sinsinawa, Wisconsin Sister Anne Marie Mongoven, OP (Thomas a' Becket), died July 29, 2017. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017, at the Sinsinawa Motherhouse. Friends may call after 5:15 p.m. Thursday, at the Sinsinawa Motherhouse. A wake service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sister Anne Marie recently celebrated 70 years of religious life. One significant period of her ministry was at Santa Clara University, where she designed, directed, and taught in the graduate program in Pastoral Ministry (1982-1997). Her first 19 years of ministry were in grade schools--Minneapolis; Madison and Wausau, Wis.; Washington, D.C.; and Omaha. She taught at Edgewood High School and College, Madison, and was associate director of the Madison Diocesan Office of Religious Education. While completing a doctorate at the Catholic University of America, with U.S. bishops she was one of the authors of the "National Catechetical Directory." She published many articles; coauthored a series for children, "Living Waters"; and wrote several books, "Signs of Catechesis," "Prophetic Spirit of Catechesis," and "Trinity: A Story of Deep Delight." Sister Anne Marie was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 21, 1927, to Thomas P. and Mary (O'Connor) Mongoven, now deceased, as are her siblings, Thomas, John, Terence and Sally Jo McNulty. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and her Dominican sisters. Casey Funeral Home of Cuba City is handling arrangements.
